Fun and games with music In this workshop, we’ll learn some musical improv skills through doing short form games.  We’ll look at: • Some simple formats that create great songs • Working together to create effective improvised choreography • Short form formats that are ready-to-perform, fun for both the players and the audience Some musical improv experience is useful but it's not necessary to have done lots before. This workshop can easily have a showcase made from it. I've taught this in the UK and overseas and people appreciate the targeted nature-- they leave with things they can perform straight away. Phil Lunn is an improviser from London, who performs both on stage and behind the piano. Phil has been improvising for about twenty years, taught and performed at many international improvisation festivals. Phil has worked with many leading companies including Music Box, Hoopla and The Maydays and currently perform with Sprout Impro and as a guest with several groups, as well as solo with his cabaret singer character Phyllida. Open Your Mouth And Sing (Heather Urquhart and Joe Samuel) describes Phil as a "powerhouse of musical improv". Status Magazine describes Phil as "one of the favourite musicians at international impro festivals".
