Description

Together with the collective Mad Ground, Haut invited you to Conversations On about Queerness & Spirituality, including vegetarian dinner.   Mad Ground will explored how working with states of MADNESS, including overwhelm, grief, trigger, and dysregulation grow educational methodologies which challenge ableist notions of safety and wellbeing towards more LIBERATORY PRACTICES and pedagogy. Among other things, we will invite the audience into a conversation about overwhelm and dysregulation, how can we as educators bring in this spiritual/faith component of the research while respecting people’s different backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures? How can we utilize our own religious practices of madness with students safely and respectfully? For this “Conversation on” you have the opportunity to gain an insight into their study, as the closure of the artists' residency. Mad Ground came together as a collective compelled by our shared questions of COMPLICITY with institutional orientations towards genocide, as well as our desire to re-wild our approaches to artistic research and pedagogy, while re-invigorating our queer, religious, and embodied practices. Participation in the event is FREE but please reserve a ticket and sign up to vegetarian dinner, as there are limited spots. Members of the Mad Ground research collective: Raoni/Muzho Saleh (he/him), Elioa Steffen (she/they), Maryam Babur (she/her), Alex Blum (she/her). About “Conversations On”, “Conversations On” is a conversation and knowledge sharing format that aims to make us smarter together and put important discourses on the agenda. It is a format where we can talk about structural issues, as well as topics that belong to other fields.
