SWIMP26: Hazel Salminen - The Impro clinic: tailor-made for you!

The Impro Clinic - tailor-made for you! Have you been doing impro for a while, but now you feel a bit stuck? Do you love improvising, but there's this one thing that you wish would be more fun? Or easier? Is there something that you have been struggling with on stage or in rehearsals? Bring your improv woes to the Impro Clinic, and we'll work together to make them "yays" instead! This is a workshop tailor-made for the participants. Yes, YOU. Through conversation and exercises, we will work on moving a bit closer to who we want to be and what we want to do as improvisers, and on getting bit more unstuck. Hazel Salminen has been teaching for over a decade and improvising for almost two, and is still excited by this lovely art of creating things out of nothing - together! Based in Helsinki, Finland, she currently performs with the professional troupe Stjärnfall (long- and short-form) and ImproJektori (technology-assisted improvised karaoke). Hazel has performed and taught at and outside of festivals in Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Spain, and India, as well as coached various groups and offered open improv and applied improv workshops. At home in Helsinki, she teaches the “new generation” of her previous team, IMP. She finds that the best thing about teaching is learning, plus watching others discover things they didn’t know they already knew! Hazel has taken intensive impro and theatre courses abroad. Inspired by teachers from the Johnstone and the Spolin traditions, as well as the LeCoq school, she loves relationship-based but also physical and quirky styles of improvisation.
