DOVBUSH: Film Screening at Palads

In the movie, director Oles Sanin brings to life the legend of Oleksa Dovbush — a Carpathian outlaw who became a symbol of justice and freedom for his people. Set in the 18th century, the film follows Oleksa and his brother Ivan who rise against oppression. One seeks justice, the other — gold. Between love and betrayal, rebellion and faith, their legend is born. More than just a tale of the past, “Dovbush” speaks to today — to the enduring human fight for dignity. A legend about the hero that lived and cheated death, of courage, loyalty, and the timeless need to live freely on one’s land, just as Ukrainians today defend the right to do so.
