Agora Cinema Club featuring Try Out Your Neighbourhood

Experience an evening of cinema and conversation, featuring a special introduction to cultural life in Copenhagen for international residents. Join Agora Cinema Club for a movie screening and an engaging discussion in a social setting! Agora Cinema Club started in November 2025 and runs regularly every second week. The aim of the club is to screen beautiful movies that might have passed under the radar and that bring up interesting conversations. Each month a new theme is chosen, and a selection of two movies is curated with input from the participants. On the last Tuesday of April, the club will host a screening in collaboration with Try Out Your Neighbourhood, a project which seeks to introduce internationals living in Copenhagen to cultural activities and social events in the city. For the occasion, the evening will open with a short presentation about some of the opportunities that Kultur & Fritid Østerbro offer for finding communities and events that welcome people who don’t speak Danish or who don’t have a strong network in the city yet. Then Agora Cinema will continue with its usual program; a short introduction to the club, a small movie quiz with delicious movie snacks as prizes, followed by the film screening. After the film, you are invited to stay for an open discussion (with cake!!) where all perspectives are welcome.
