Description
Join us for a special evening with a talk by the philosopher and Harvard professor Michael Rosen centered on the concept of dignity, followed by a guided tour of the exhibition When We See Us by Director of Liljevalchs, Joanna Sandell Wright.
Dignity runs through modern life, from the Human Rights Committee of the United Nations to the ways that we look at one another when we meet. Yet it is puzzling too. Dignity has meant very different things to different people at different times and places. The philosopher, Michael Rosen, will bring out some of those ideas and ask what they tell us about ourselves.
Michael Rosen is the Senator Joseph S. Clark Professor of Ethics in Politics and Government at Harvard University. Among his books are Dignity: its History and Meaning (2012) and The Shadow of God: Kant, Hegel and the Passage from Heaven to History (2022).
After the talk, Joanna Sandell Wright, Director of Liljevalchs, will give a guided tour of the exhibition When We See Us, with a focus on the concept of dignity.
Limited number of seats. Prepurchase your ticket to ensure your spot. The ticket is also valid as admission to the exhibition.
The talk is held in English.
