Georgia Ntagaki is one of the most distinctive figures of modern Greek music and the only female musician identified with the Cretan lyre, spreading its sound all over the world through important collaborations in both Greece and abroad. She is a modern Greek music representative and a member of the world/ ethnic community. She comes from Crete island but he grew up in Athens. At the age of twelve, she started playing the lyre and composing her first songs.Through a ceaseless search for a contemporary and expressive result, which includes both the tradition that she loves and the music present, she was distinguished because she originally married not only Greek and international but also acoustic and electronic music in an original and authentically personal way. In 2009 her album “Askardamikti” , produced by Nikos Zoudiaris, was released abroad by the German company “Network Medien”. The songs “ Escape Ship” ( Karavi ‘tis Fygis) and “Full moon” (Panselinos) stood out. At the same time she went on a tour with Goran Brecovic, as a support singer. In 2014, her next album “Phobie” was released by the German company Monopol Records. The mastering and the sound processing of the album took place in the historic Hansa Studios in Berlin. Within a few months it managed to climb the Top 20 World Music Charts of Europe. In her music journey she was blessed to collaborate with important international artists. One of her most remarkable moments in her career was her collaboration with the rock legend Eric Burdon and the Animals, with whom she went on a long tour in 2009, which included 25 European cities. It was a collaboration which gave Georgia Ntagaki the chance to give with her Cretan lyre a Greek color to great rock songs such as “The house of the rising sun”, “Don’t let me be misunderstood “, “Mercy’s hand”, “Give me the night “. She was also given the chance to sing her song “Fool Moon”, covered and played by the Animals. This collaboration was “sealed” in a recording studio, where Georgia took part in the recording of four songs in Eric Burdon’s record “Athens Traffic Live”, in 2005. Among her most important collaborations on stage, we must highlight the ones with the legendary Violent Femmes from America. She has also a lot of special collaborations with talented Greek artists: Nikos Ksidakis, Panagiotis Margaris, Vasilis Papakonstantinou, Nikos Zoudiaris, Eleni Vitali, Manolis Mitsias, Orfeas Peridis, Pix Lax, Dimitris Zervoudakis, Vasilis Lekkas, Giannis Koutras, Panagiotis Kalatzopoulos, Evanthia Rempoutsika, Mixalis Hatzigiannis.
