This course is a beginner-to-intermediate level qualification and it is addressed to wine enthusiasts and professionals who have either no or basic knowledge about wines and grape varieties, aiming at getting a basic, but well-structured introduction to the world of wines.
Through an engaging and informative course, students will explore the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world, the wine regions and denominations where they are grown and the styles of wine they produce. Through a combination of theory and tasting sections, you will learn about the key factors in the vineyard and in the winery affecting the wine style and quality and key labeling terms to identify wines easily and to give advice about the proper selection and service. After the course, you will have the confidence to describe wine in an easy, but structured way and to assess its quality in a professional way.
No prior knowledge is required. The course will be delivered in English, so a good level of English is beneficial.
You will be expected to read the provided text book before attending the classes. The study material will be delivered by courier to students after the enrollment onto the course. After successfully passing the final exam, students will receive a WSET digital Certificate.

About the exam
In order to obtain the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines certificate, students must sit a final exam consisting of 50 multiple choice questions to be completed in one hour. To pass, students must answer 55% of the questions correctly. The final exam will be held on the 20th of October 2025 from 9 am to 10 am at Vinarium.
About the teacher
