Children’s Workshop and Reading with Andrea Pippins

Join illustrator and author Andrea Pippins for a special reading from Maya’s World (written and illustrated by Pippins), a vibrant story that celebrates self-expression and imagination, perfect for any young artist who sees the world in different and interesting ways, encouraging readers to explore their creativity and share their ideas with pride. Following the reading, Andrea will lead a workshop where children create a collaborative drawing inspired by nature. Drawing on themes from the book, participants are invited to imagine expressive landscapes and explore their ideas through guided prompts. For children aged 6–9 and their adults Andrea Pippins is a Stockholm-based American designer, illustrator, and author whose work empowers children and women, celebrates creativity and culture, and inspires joy and inclusivity. She is the author and illustrator of Who Will You Be, Maya’s World, and The Spark in You and illustrated the Young, Gifted, and Black series. Andrea has collaborated with brands such as Five Below, Instagram, MTV, Nick Jr., and Sephora. Her work has been featured in O: The Oprah Magazine, The New York Times, Essence Magazine, and more.
