Solár + Comprehending live @ William's Pub | Uppsala | 14e Mars 2026Comprehending is an instrumental math-rock/post-rock band from Uppsala, Sweden. Their music takes inspiration from bands such as Via Luna, Delta Sleep and TTNG ranging from soft mathy guitar and drum riffs to big atmosperic reverb saturated crescendos. The band formed in 2019 as a bedroom project by guitarist John Pettersson and soon released a line of singles. In 2023 Andreas Valdna joined as a full time member of the band after having filled in on drums for live shows which led to the band now being a two-piece. The band released their first full lenght album called "The Perils And Rewards Of An Unknown Path" on August 27th 2025, including the recently released singles “Flourish”, “A Sense of Hope” and ‘Ventured Paths’. Solár - atmospheric post rock from Stockholm, Sweden. The music, influenced by a diverse range from film scores to bands like GY!BE, Swans, and Pink Floyd, offers an exploratory and expansive sound taking the listener on a journey across multiple soundscapes. In 2022, their album "Atlas" was acclaimed as the best instrumental album of the year. The band has gained recognition on the live circuit touring Sweden, Finland, Baltics and Poland as well as opening for 1000mods on their European tour. By creating an immersive experience with cinematic compositions, Solár transports listeners to another world through their unique approach to storytelling.
