Inspireret af blandt andre Charles Mingus, trækker Akrofi tråde til både jazzhistoriens store helte og samtidens lyd, og præsenterer et personligt og nutidigt bud på, hvordan jazz kan lyde i dag. Hans musik er både inderlig og eksplosiv – melodisk og kompromisløs – og vidner om en stor kunstner in the making og med noget på hjerte. Akrofi har tidligere markeret sig på scenen med navne som Josephin Bovién, Jeremy Troy og Mark Hurell (UK), Gustav Hagelskjær m.fl. og han er kendt for sit stærke nærvær og samspil.
