Copenhagen Jazz Festival: The 5to8s @H15

For this year’s Copenhagen Jazz Festival, The 5to8’s are coming back to H15 Scene for a full night of funk, soul and hip hop – covering a wide landscape from futuristic to old school, from smooth to erratic, and quiet to energetic. The 5to8s are fresh off the release of the debut EP “Strawberry Sessions – Part One”, recorded over two days in the Swedish Countryside and showcasing the same playfulness and exquisite musicianship that the band’s live shows are famous for. The 5to8's are a Copenhagen collective of musicians and singers. Original material, music created on the spot, and jams over borrowed hip hop and soul grooves make up the shows. The goal is to take the listener on a musical voyage, through improvisation, playful freestyle raps and soulful vocals. Add a bit of playful interaction with the crowd, a low-key vibe, and you have that all-encompassing atmosphere that makes a 5to8s live session so unique. The 5to8’s are: Kuku Agami (vocals), Jonas Rendbo (vocals), Jonas Winge Leisner (vocals), Hannibal Gustafsson (guitar), Daniel Fridell (keyboards), Phong Lê (keyboards), Mogens Palsbøll (bass), Minh Lê Shingara (drums).
